“Compassion Is Our Vocation”
City Ministries of Good Samaritan Church, Mbarara, continues to pursue its calling of becoming a channel of God’s compassion to people in need through spiritual ministry, community outreach, counseling, evangelism and empowerment.
Founded around the biblical example of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:33, the ministry believes that compassion should go beyond words and be demonstrated through practical action.
“But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him.” — Luke 10:33
A Ministry Beyond the Church Walls
While the Good Samaritan Church remains a central part of the ministry, City Ministries’ vision extends into the wider community.
The ministry seeks to respond to different spiritual and practical needs through counseling, prayer, deliverance services, evangelism, community outreach and support for vulnerable people.
Among its areas of focus is reaching needy people with food and other forms of practical assistance, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to putting compassion into action.
Supporting Children and Vulnerable Communities
One of the ministry’s major areas of interest is supporting children who have lost their parents.
The vision includes providing assistance in areas such as shelter, food, education and medical care, while working toward the establishment of a dedicated orphanage facility in the future.
The ministry also seeks to support vulnerable individuals and families through community guidance, counseling and outreach.
Empowering the Next Generation
Young people and children are another important part of the ministry’s vision.
Through programs such as the Good Samaritan Youth Camp, planned during school holidays, the ministry seeks to create opportunities for young people to grow spiritually, develop leadership skills and build positive relationships.
The ministry also has a vision for empowering women and other marginalised groups to participate meaningfully in different sectors of society.
Weekly Ministry Services
City Ministries of Good Samaritan provides several opportunities for people to receive spiritual guidance and ministry.
Every Sunday at 9:00 AM, the ministry holds its main worship service.
Every Tuesday, individuals can access one-on-one counseling with Prophetess Annet Kamwine, the Vision Bearer of City Ministries of Good Samaritan.
Every Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the ministry holds its Deliverance Service, focusing on prayer and spiritual ministry.
Looking Toward the Future
The ministry has an ambitious long-term vision that includes the construction of a permanent church complex, establishment of an orphanage, development of schools and healthcare initiatives, rehabilitation centres, agriculture projects, poultry and goat farming, bakery and confectionery, media and printing services, branding and embroidery, as well as transportation services.
The ministry’s current land acquisition for its permanent church development provides part of the foundation for this long-term vision.
A Call to Partnership
As City Ministries of Good Samaritan continues to develop its work, the ministry welcomes individuals, organisations, churches and other partners who share a passion for serving communities and restoring hope.
People can participate through prayer, volunteering, giving, skills, resources and partnerships.
The ministry’s message remains simple:
COMPASSION IS OUR VOCATION.
